Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
Running up to date Feisty.
A few days ago gdm got updated, IIRC that included a reworked gdmsetup GUI.
I wanted to check it out, but gdmsetup failed to start.
It doesn't pop up any error window, and when started from the command line, it doesn't print any message or warning whatsoever, absolutely nothing at all, just a blinking cursor. It hangs there for a minute or so, then returns.
How can I debug it ? Is there a -debug version of gdmsetup ? Instructions to get backtrace or run it trough a debugger ? I am ready to help ;-)

I did a "sudo strace -olog.txt gdmsetup" and attached the file here.
The last line, where it hangs, is this one:
futex(0x8130458, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL)
Hope that helps a little...
