Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-doc-utils
1. cd /tmp
2. gnome-doc-prepare --help
3. gnome-doc-prepare --new-document tmp-manual
4. you see an error although step 2 told you that step 3 was okay
You just need to replace /bin/sh by /bin/bash in gnome-doc-prepare to get this part working on Ubuntu.

gnome-doc-utils (0.8.0-0ubuntu2) feisty; urgency=low patches/ 10_workaround_ bashisms. patch:
.
* debian/
- rely on /bin/bash instead of /bin/sh. (Malone: #76549)
* debian/control.in:
- depend on bash.
