Bug Description

Since my upgrade from a well working Ubuntu Drapper Drake I experience problems with the power management on my Asus Z92J (similar to A6J-series) Notebook.

I can't hinbernate and suspend any more and when logging off from Gnome it wouldn't let me choose the options like Log Off / Suspend / Hibernate / Restart / Shutdown. Instead it would just log off and show me the gnome log in screen.

When the computer is started in safe mode it displays the following message while starting up:

xxx.xxxx] Asus Laptop ACPI Extras version 0.30
Unsupported mode A6JC
trying default values
send /proc/acpi/dsdt to the developers

The notebook is equipped with a nVidia Card.

Do you need any more information?

Thanks for the bug report. Could you please provide the output of `acpi` ?

Given that "acpi" is a small utility that prints battery information, it's unlikely that it's causing this problem.

Tim, could you please attach (by commenting on the bug) to the bug report the output of the following commands:

uname -a

sudo lspci -vv

sudo lspci -vvn

sudo dmidecode

Since there will be a lot of output, please to sure to attach rather than include in-line.

It would also be helpful if you could try to hibernate/suspend and after that fails, restart your system and attach /var/log/kern.log.0 as well.

Thanks again!
