Bug Description

Binary package hint: modemmanager

I have editted networkmanager settings to enable automatic mobile connection (upon login). I.e. I clicked on the corresponding field. I also typed my PIN into another field and saved these settings. (I even allowed eventual other users to use the connection.)

Despite of that the modemmanager (or networkmanager) does connect me upon log-in. Instead, it first asks for PIN (although it has the PIN is written in the settings panel) and even after typing the PIN I am not connected automatically. I have to clik on the popup menu to connect.

My system: Ubuntu 11.04 beta 2, 32-bit version
My modem: Huawei E870 (3G Gold Express Card)
My machine: Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO Pro V3205
My desktop environment: Ubuntu no effects (classic GNOME)

BTW, the process how a user is asked for his/her PIN is also not working smoothly: Immediatelly after log-in the pasword (PIN) is prompted for in the small window but this window quickly disappears (before user can type the PIN). In a few seconds the prompting window appears again and user can finally type the PIN.

I've had exactly the same problems since installing 11.04 (used 10.04 before), and this is really annoying.
My modem is Huawei E1752.

If anyone knows a workaround, post it somewhere. Thanks!
