Looks like dkms failed to recognize the older kernel?

affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) → dkms (Ubuntu)

The error isn't from DKMS but rather from the NVIDIA build system invoked by DKMS.

Hi, Thank you for your responses. Yes, this problem occurred when I had changed to an older kernel to fix the issue with the suspend/hibernate. So I just reinstalled ubuntu and instead of installing the open nvidia driver, I installed the graphics driver from nvidia website. This solved the issue of hibernate/suspend in ubuntu.

I have the same problem when moving from 2.6.38-8-generic to 2.6.38-8-generic-pae. dkms fails on nvidia module.

Probably yet another duplicate of bug #576648, which most of the nvidia build failures with the same DKMSBuildLog have been directed.
