compiz snap plugin stops working as expected, inconsisten usablityt

When using the compiz snap plugin to drag and snap an application to the top panel it snaps to maximize as expected. Occasionally you can't click, drag and unsnap the application from the panel. you can't double click either to un-maximize. You can use alt-click and drag the application as normal. Occurs frequently so should be easy to reproduce.
