Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

On Natty Beta 2, by default, local mounted devices appears in the Unity launcher and on the desktop (as well as in Nautilus sidebar), which is redundant.

Moreover, mounted Samba shares (and maybe some other external devices/partition) appear on the desktop, but not on the Unity launcher, which is inconsistent.

See screenshot attached.

My suggestion:

1) Disable by default showing devices on the desktop (see /apps/nautilus/desktop/volumes_visible key in gconf-editor);
2) Make sure that all mounted devices or partitions appear on Unity launcher.

With these measures, all mounted devices would then be accessible on the Unity launcher and in the Nautilus sidebar.

Thanks!
