Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Suppose I want to start 2 terminal sessions from a pinned terminal button. I cannot do it. I can only start one. Please add this possibility. It is NOT intuitive that I must go to the apps menu to start another instance of it.

The only application that allows this is Firefox. No one else allow it.

What do you mean "allow". Why should an app "allow" it. It's clearly possible to have multiple gterm's. Just build it into the launcher, I would say.

That, again, is not very intuitive, but it's there at least. Is there a way to change the binding?

Maybe the middle-click info could be added to the help? Had to google it to find out how to start multiple instances of a program.

AFAIK it isn't.

Maybe a better option would be to provide a "New Window" option on the context menu for a launcher? The only problem is that not all applications support opening of new windows. For example, you shouldn't be able to have two instances of the Ubuntu Software Center open.

Is there a way to do this from the keyboard? Launching applications using Super + Number is great, but I'd like to be able to launch a second instance via the keyboard as well.

@Ryan: you can use Super + Shift + <number>. See http://askubuntu.com/questions/28086/unity-keyboard-mouse-shortcuts.

And I think this is a duplicate of bug #734170.
