Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
Occasionally when I try to unlock the screen from the screensaver, nothing gets drawn on the screen except for the mouse pointer. The rest of the screen is black, but the mouse pointer behaves as if the unlock dialog is present on the screen. If I type my password at that point, the mouse pointer behaves as if it's hovering over the various windows on my desktop. I can switch to other virtual terminals, and if I run 'kill -9 compiz' and switch back to my desktop the windows and desktop are drawn again after compiz restarts. I've observed this on two different machines.
There doesn't seem to be any reproducible steps to making it happen. I see it most often if the computer has been sitting idle for an extended period of time, especially overnight, but not always. And I have seen it happen after only a few minutes as well.
