Bug Description

To see the fault:-
Use sony vaio PCG-R600HMPD with intel graphics chipset i830. Run kubunt edgy 6.10
set vga=773 in grub menu.lst (two places as in latest edgy)
the text when X is running is randomly coloured as are some parts of pictures. the effect is very noticable.
workarounds:-
1/ log out of the session then log back in again - The text and graphics are OK.
2/ take out the command vga= in boot/grub/menu.lst. The splash screen is then black, but the text is OK when X runs.

Please test with 7.04 when it comes out in a few days. If it still doesn't work, please try installing xserver-xorg-video-intel, which is a newer version of the driver.
