Bug Description

Reported by Nat:

We have a bug with the add community members process. KARL is supposed to identify existing KARL users invited to communities using the "Invite New" option (assuming the correct email address is used). This way, moderators can put large batches of email addresses into one invitation and have KARL determine which users should be added immediately and which users need to be invited to KARL for the first time. This is not happening. Existing users are being sent invitations to create new KARL accounts. Please take a look.

JimP, can you recreate this on osf-karl.gocept.com?

Think there's a way to write a selenium test for this?

Paul,

I will try to recreate when the site is back up but I wanted to address your comment about a selenium test. In short a selenium test should be able to be run over and over but adding a user is a one time thing therefore the test would not work after a few iterations.

Paul,

After testing the results were: existing member to Karl was added to new community but no e-mail went out telling the member that.
second: The new user never received an invitation and was pending being added until they responded. Waited three hours and
tested with e-mail in and out and it works fine. Both accounts can receive e-mails but none appears to being sent.

Nat, JimP tried to create the problem but couldn't. Could you check on osf-karl and see if you can recreate it? (Remember that the email notice won't go out unless the address is on the whitelist.)

This appears to longer be a bug. I just tested and invite features are now working properly. Not sure what happened, but I guess all is well now.

Thanks,
Nat
