Unable to open gdmsetup

Binary package hint: gdm

I have a problem with Feisty up-to-date: if I go to menu>system>administration>gdm window (I don't know if that's the name in English) it ask for my password but after it nothing happens.

The same problem if I go to a terminal and do this (as root):

emilio@kiko:~$ su
Password:
root@kiko:/home/emilio# gdmsetup

root@kiko:/home/emilio#

However, if i do:
emilio@kiko:~$ sudo dbus-launch gdmsetup

The window opens.
