Bug Description
Using Kubuntu/Edgy, after my last upgrade (upgraded via apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade, included both KDE and kernel updates) the KDE menu is now empty of applications. The Run Command, Switch User, Lock Session, and Log Out buttons are still there, but no applications.
I tried restarting kicker from the command line to look for errors, nothing there. I then tried to log out, and the screen just went blank (never returned to KDM). Then tried to log in to the console instead, but could not--really strange behavior. I would enter my username, wait, then it would ask for username again. Couldn't reboot via ctrl-alt-delete either, so I just did a kernel emergency sync, rebooted, and ended up with filesystem corruption.
Everything is pretty much back to normal now, but my menu is still empty :(
