I can't reproduce the error.
This is what I did:
wget http://launchpad.net/imdb-thumbnailer/trunk/0.8.2/+download/imdb-thumbnailer.0.8.2.deb
sudo gdebi imdb-thumbnailer.0.8.2.deb

There was no error.

The error appears only in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty when the deb file is launched with Ubuntu Software Center.
It works if I install from the .jar file.
