Subject: pth: fails to build (missing build-conflicts?)

Package: pth
Severity: serious
Justification: no longer builds from source

I was able to compile pth inside a minimal chroot environment but not in my main system. Maybe there is a missing Build-Conflicts.

gcc-3.4.1 and libtool 1.5.6 in both environments

./libtool --mode=compile --quiet gcc -c -I. -I.. -pipe ../pth_sched.c

Upon further investigation, it appears that gawk works just fine when
not used in a UTF8 locale. One possible solution (which I like better

you may consider exporting LC_ALL instead, just to make sure.
