Further notice:

Removing hibernate.
uswsusp was previously removed.

Error persist.

Another try:
Setting acpi_os_name to Linux according to the list of possible values taken from acpidump.
Rebooting
Hibernating

Surprisingly, the system wakes up this this, but dies with a "general protection fault 0000 (#1) SMP" after a few minutes of work.

For ACPI-Errors see the following acpi-grepped dmesg.

Update:

Removing the acpi_backlight_vendor kernel parameter will lead to a working hibernate/wakeup constellation, but other problems occur:

* X.org freezes, but console access still works, so that gdm may be restarted.
* Brightness control keys don't work any longer. (Only reduction of brightness is possible. Pressing the keycode another time locks the brightness at it's full level. Shortly afterwards, the backlight turn off and cannot be reenabled until a reboot is triggered.)

Proposed solution: Check backlight_vendor_asus for hibernate/wakeup issues.
