Unity does not pick up applications running under wine

Bug Description
When you open an application in wine, you are presented with the 'Wine Windows Program Loader' in the unity dock, and no way to add the individual application to the dock. It also presents the wine, rather than the running application's icon (as can be seen with spotify in the attached screenshot).
