some icons are shaded others are colored - not standard is worse than a bad one

Bug Description

some applications get iconified in the notification area (usually on the upper corner) and most of them are shaded (to white, if I am using ambience theme, or to black if I am using radiance theme) which is good as any other standard... the thing is, some applications are still colored (some how), like Pastie (from a PPA), and I son believe it kept its color because it is "third party" since dropbox has also a shaded effect to its usually blue icon (pretty difficult do decipher what the dropbox icon actually was without hovering/clicking on it)
