Hi John,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to make Ubuntu better.
It appears that postfix thinks that your hostname is '04' and it doesn't like that. Can you send the result of 'hostname --fqdn' and 'cat /etc/hostname, and make sure everything is configured accordingly,. and/or manually edit /etc/postfix/ main.cf or /etc/mailname to correctly reflect your hostname.
