Serious Dash issues after 04-08-2011 3:00 PM update

Ok here is the good news. The issues with ellipes in the lenses is fixed.
Ok here is the bad news. I will let the screenshots expain. This condition happens after I click on the Dash button and either 1) Hit "ESCAPE" or click the Dash button to get rid of the Dash.

So for the time being I am using Ubuntu Classic session. This running on Ubuntu 11.04 beta 1

Ok I managed to uninstall the latest build and reinstalled the b511 build so I now have a working unity-2d again - wasn't too hard. I think I can live with the ellipses - for now. :)

I tried to redo the thing you are describing but I have no problem in activating and deactivating dash, both with esc or with dash button. I use natty as guest in a Virtual Box Xp host.

Well I am not surprised. :) It could have been a combo of other distro updates along with it - who can say. All I know is what happended right after I installed and rebooted. I have reinstalled the b511 build and it works just fine. It might be best if I just wait until 11.04 goes final and wipe the drive and install and I am confident it will be good.

This may also be a side effect of revision 520 that fixed bug #750753.
Needs more investigation, but definitely a critical issue.

Well I downloaded the 3.8.2 source and grafted the code from the qml files into the bzr511 qml files on my machine to fix the ellipses issue. I have to say it looks a lot better.

@Mariano Chavero: I am using the unity-2d-3.8.2-ubuntu1 package becasue the daily build did not work for my system.

Are you guys using Compiz?

No I am using metacity. The bz511 build works just fine. I did try running compiz with the bz511 build and as lolng as I had the unity plugin disabled - it ran fine but I switched back to metacity. I don't really need all that flash to be honest.
