Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
After upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04 about 5 days ago, things went well. Even though I could not log in with the Unity as the desktop, I was able to continue with the Ubuntu Classic option which inlcudes gnome desktop. Then, 3 days ago I updated using the update-manager and the login theme and the desktop theme changed, to the worse since no icons are being shown (see attached screenshot).
I've been updating ever since hoping it would resolve but it has not so i'm filing this bug.
This might be a similar bug but since there's no details I decided to file a new one:

See missing icons. Changing theme did not help either.
