Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
System appears to freeze whenever I click the maximize button in a window.
I expected the window to maximize, instead, the system froze. I fixed by dropping to a shell via Ctrl + Alt + F1, logging in, and running sudo shutdown now, then rebooting. Other methods of maximizing the window, such as keyboard shortcuts and double clicking the title bar of the window appear to work, however the maximize button does not. This bug occurs in the Unity desktop, I have not tried it on GNOME yet, so I am not sure if it's an issue with Unity or the whole system.

affects: | xorg (Ubuntu) → xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) |
Please reproduce on Classic Desktop (no effects).
There is no indication in the X or kernel logs that the GPU froze. I do notice this though:

However the varying timestamps suggest these messages aren't related to the freeze. You could try tailing Xorg.0.log in an ssh session, and reproduce the bug to see if the message correlates to the freeze, but I'm guessing not.
