Bug Description

Binary package hint: parcellite

I'm running the beta of Ubuntu 11.04 64bit Edition.

After launching parcellite, normally (in GNOME), it would be used via a "clipboard" icon placed on the panel near the clock.

Now, it launches, but isn't accessible; it isn't displayed anywhere.

This 'bug' also effects Unity on a 32 bits version of Ubuntu

Oh..there is an alternative: Diodon. I read an article on http://www.webupd8.org/2011/01/diodon-lightweight-clipboard-manager.html and it works!

Is this going to be address before the release?

Changed in parcellite (Ubuntu):

Isn't

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"

the solution?

I tried gsettings... and that had no effect, it still won't show in my system. I ran the gsettings-command in a terminal and it gave no output.

The gsettings command is the solution (or workaround). You just have to logout and then login again to have effect, at least in my case. Now parcellite is showing.

In 12.04 beta, I'm using clipit instead of parcellite, and it shows up fine in the "system tray" (by the clock).

sudo apt-get install clipit

Any plans to adapt parcellite as an indicator in Unity too?

I'm currently dealing with a bug in clipit:
