Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

had just finished a session where i was logged in to gnome/ubuntu classic (got firestarter wizard for the first time since upgrade btw) where I was trying to install a package that didn't work on the new kernel. Logged out, logged in to ubuntu (new) and get the firestarter wizard agin, it had lost all it's settings from previous session. and when the wizard was running and I was trying to start firewall compiz gave me the crash message.

after crash, when window is not maximized I don't get the rezize/close/minimize buttons but the menus are still at the top of the screen. Also the top of the window has disapeared "under" the top taskbar.

Restarted the computer and the same thing happened again.

update: installed compizconfig-settings-manager and did a restart. No crash but I don't know if this is relevant since this package wasn't in the original setup and I asume not necessary. but the problem with the topless windows persists, see picture attached.
