Audio crashes when selecting options from the options-list

Bug Description

Ubuntu 6.10 german version.
Installed Skype with synaptic following instructions given at
http://friederschueler.de/linux/sourceslist-unter-kubuntu-610-edgy-eft-mit-plf-beryl-xgl-skype/

Installation worked fine, but trying to perform a testcall shows that my microphone doesn't work.

Since there are also problems with Audacity (see bugreport https://bugs.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/audacity/+bug/72946)
I had made changes in gnome-audio before and thought, those changes might be the reason that now the microphone in Skype doesn't work. So I returned to gnome-audio and changed settings in devices - conference settings - recording. With selection Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Mic 2 ADC the gnome-audio froze (not responding").
I closed and reopened audio and selected next Intel 82801DB-ICH4 - MIC ADC. Upon clicking on "Test" an automaticed sequence of windows told me to excuse for a crash and data collecting started. I would like to attach the indicated data-file
/var/crash/_usr_bin_gnome-sound-properties.1000.crash
but cannot find here a possibility.

Gruß, Gerhard

one more a couple of days later.

BTW: The progress-bar in the lower fram of the Mozilla firefox-window doesn't work with uploading the crash-report.

Thank you for your bug. The backtrace is weird, it loops to gstreamer code, reassigning

Having a way to triger the problem would be nice, the backtrace doesn't look that useful
