Bug Description

After a fresh installation of both 10.04, 10.10 server LTS , the system startup correctly upto grub.
Than I see a cursor in the upper left position and, after some seconds, the hdmi output stops working.
If I enter in rescue mode, and try these modifications http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1666110
the situation doesn't change.
Using rescue mode with 10.10 64bit server edition I have made a tar of /var/log and copied using scp to another pc.
I attach this file in order to provide some informations.
Now, reinstalling a 9.10 alternate 64bit the system works correctly.
