Bug Description

Unity keyboard shortcuts do not work every time. After first boot or after restarting GDM service are available keys only for lenses and trash, until some application window forces launcher to hide and unhide. After that are again all keys working, but not always. Sometimes it is hard to reproduce it, but this issue is definitelly there...

could you be a little bit more specific about the issue you're having? what exactly is going wrong?

I am not able to reproduce this behaviour anymore, but when you look at attached picture, by holding Win key, have not all keyboard shortuts worked, only three on picture were working. But now it seems to be OK. Unity sometimes behaves unpredictable. If you cannot reproduce this i am afraid i cannot help..

Confirmed - I experienced this just now, and it's not just after restarting gdm (which I did because the mouse stopped worked, heh). After a full restart, I no longer have shortcut keys for anything but "s, a, f, t", i.e. there are no numbered application shortcuts.

Just before the reboot (where this behavior persisted), I performed a dist-upgrade to make sure everything was current.

I notice this bug as well randomly at startup as well. Holding down the command key only shows shortcuts for the letter keys 's,a,f,t', not any of the number shortcuts.

Running NVIDIA driver 270.41.19 from the x-swat PPA

Quantal should be unaffected by this.

@ Alexandros: have you experienced this after installing new applications from sw center?
