Can you please list the USB IDs for the bluetooth devices you use? The 'lsusb' command can tell you that.

Here is the bluetooth device I use:
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0930:0508 Toshiba Corp. Integrated Bluetooth HCI

I had installed the 2.6.39 kernel from http://ppa.launchpad.net/kernel-ppa/ppa/ubuntu
and the bluetooth works again. It also works with the 2.6.37 kernel so, I'm not sure it's related to the gnome-bluetooth.

You will also find the result of lsusb -vv in attached

thanks.

same happens to me on a OQO model 02. this worked fine under 10.10.

to get it back to work i had to do:

sudo service bluetooth stop
# wait
sudo service bluetooth start
# wait
sudo service network-manager restart # so my tethering works

Bug #751097 reports different results for different kernel versions. Other than that, this looks like a duplicate of bug 467062.

After installing the Ubuntu 11.10 upcoming kernel, 2.6.39-3, bluetooth works for me without having to restart the daemon.
