Typing first letters on an application can result in first history entry opening in Alt-F2 dialogue

My system is using Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 1 installed today, unity 3.8.2.

If I type the first few letters of an application, e.g. pid for pidgin, there is a tiny and perfectly reasonable delay before pidgin appears in the Applications pane. Less reasonably, if I press enter in the interval, the most recent history entry will run instead. For example, say the last command I ran was ccsm. I type pid [return] very quickly. Then ccsm will open instead of pidgin. If I wait a second before pressing enter after typing pid, pidgin will open.

Unity should do one or both, probably both, of the following:

a) only execute a history entry if it matches what you typed

b) confirm that what you are typing does not match an application before launching a history entry
