Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
One of the application I use requires the user to be in the 'lp' group, so it can access /dev/parport0 (which is created by loading the 'ppdev' kernel module).
In Dapper I could click on something like "list all groups", and pick up 'lp', then add myself to it. In Edgy, the GUI has been reworked/
I tried googling to do the same task on the command line, but I ended up screwing my system. So really, a useable GUI would be welcome.

I'm also running Edgy and have the same problem.
The help text for Users settings says:
"
Users list
Shows the available users. depending on the gconf key "/apps/ gnome-system- tools/users/ show_all" it will show the system users too.
"
however, when I ran gconf-editor, I found it had an entry named "showall" (with no underscore). I tried enabling this setting but it made no difference. I added a new entry named "show_all" and it seems to work... sometimes! There's something not quite right about this, but I am at a loss to explain the inconsistent results I am seeing.
