Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

At the moment there is no way for an average user to easily configure any extra buttons their mouse may have or to set shortcuts for buttons. A simple UI for the buttons could be present in gnome-mouse-properties, but also a unified interface for input configuration could be used - i.e. gnome-keybinding-properties could accept mouse buttons. Mice with plenty of buttons are now very common, and asking users to install universe packages and hand-edit config files is not really acceptable for something so basic.
