Bug Description

Binary package hint: deja-dup

Ubuntu 11.04 Beta

When backup runs it should backup to specified folder on external drive
Instead when backup runs it does not remember the local folder settings and just backs up to the external drive but not to the specified folder. This has only started to occur since the upgrade to Natty from Maverick

Does this still happen on the final 11.04?

When I tried after the final release, yes, but have not tried recently (have been relying on backintime). I can reinstall and try again in the next few hours

- Reinstalled deja dup
- Went into preferences, selected 'local folder' and choose the folders I wanted to back up
- Restarted the computer
- After the restart deja dup was still looking for the old settings and external drive that is no longer connected

What would be the best way to purge all the old settings for deja dup so I could try from scratch?

Just tried purging Deja Dup and Duplicity from my computer. I then deleted my dconf settings. Restarted the computer, reinstalled Deja Dup, but the problem still persists. I had tried using dconf-editor to reset all the deja dup settings to default, but on each restart they old remembered settings kept returning.

If I can provide any further information then please let me know.

I have reinstalled Ubuntu 11.04, but made sure I formatted my Home partition too. Now Deja Dup is working fine exactly like it used too, my daily backups run to the selected external drive with no errors. I know it was a little overkill, but some config setting somewhere was obviously causing all this bother. Some people have suggested dconf, but I am unsure. For my part you can close the bug now.
