Bug Description

Binary package hint: revolution-mkl

After installing this package, which I assume liked R's blas and lapack to MKL, R cannot quit. Whenever Blas/Lapack operations are involved, for example after using eigen(), and then trying to quit R with q(), R will not response.

Stop R by Ctril-Z and then bring it back with fg, R will terminate successful. This seems to be a problem with R and MKL. I compiled R with MKL myself, and the same problem showed on Ubuntu 11.04.

Also this problem does not happen if MKL is limited to run in sequential mode, without multi-threading.

Testing of MKL in multi-threading mode or link R with any other blas/lapck, does not show any problem.

Comment on my own bug: this problem seems to be specific to my machine, a dell precision t3500.

This machine seems to cause much problems in the past, as well.
