Unable to use Sony nws-w-series walkman

Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

My Sony walkman (nws-w-series) is not detected by Banshee.. I use banshee as my media management app but have to use rhythmbox to sync my walkman. Please fix this.

Owais, Please could you run in a terminal "banshee --debug" and attach all the output information as a separated file (while you are trying to reproduce this issue)? Also could you attach your "~/.config/banshee-1/log" as a separated file, Thank you.

by the way, if you are working under Ubuntu Natty there is a new release available (2.0.0-2ubuntu1)

The device was plugged in when banshee started. I plugged it out and backin before playing the track.

Owais, Have you enabled MTP Media Player and Mass Storage Media Player support extensions in banshee right?

Yes, MTP extension is enabled however, mtptools and mtpfs packages were not installed. I installed them but cannot test until I get home.

Can you please go through this and help us determine if the problem is gvfs-gphoto, libmtp or Banshee itself that is causing the issue:
