Bug Description

Distro: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Alpha
Method: sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator
Version: 0.4.1~bzr822-0ubuntu2 (natty)
Manager: Metacity
VGA: nVidia Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210] nvidia propietary drivers

It is an applet crash. AWN itself does not crash. The applet can also be restarted. But every time I do a secondary click the launcher applet crashes.

I guess the problem is under manager.py, not sure...

Do you refer to Launcher/Taskmanager to Simple Launcher? Besides, I cannot find the file manager.py.

I saw that file somewhere, maybe it's now called diferently.

It's the Launcher/Taskmanager Applet that crashes.

taskmanager applet is part of awn project so moved it from awn-extras to awn.

affects: awn-extras → awn

@gerstrong: could you better describe what you did to get the crash? With which button did you click? Did you click on an icon or on an item in an Awn balloon / dialog above the icon?

It could be a duplicate of bug 738453, but that is really a wild guess right now.

Hey, no problem. Yeah, I mean right click to open the context menu where you can close a group of open apps, when aviable or launch another instance. Instead of the menu I get that crash. Only the applet crashes, and I can restart it within AWN what is a nice feature.

I'm a developer in C/C++ myself, too bad I don't know about python so I would help you more on that.

If you tell me what data you need I could send it. I had Ubuntu 10.10 and I guess AWM 0.4.0 is the one I used. I just migrated through the upgrade. I might have old config files and can delete it, but not sure if I should...

I might test it later with no configuration....

Well, I tried reseting data and uninstalling awn. After the reinstallation same problems. I'm not sure if I got all the config data killed. There isn't something like .awn directory. Where can I reset all config of awn?

Well lucky for you the Awn dock itself and taskmanager are written in C :p. No python. Could you run avant-window-navigator in a terminal and paste the output that appears when the taskmanager crashes?

Btw, are you now running 0.4.0 or 0.4.1?
