Bug Description

I am netinstalling Herd 1 on several machines which previously ran Dapper and Edgy. For example, Dell Precision 380, Dell Dimension 5150 and Optiplex GX620. During the step "Detecting disks and all other hardware", the progress bar stalls at 92% with the message "Starting PC card services...".

I have tried to reboot the systems experiencing this problem and it happens consistently. So, this bug is not intermittent.

As a temporary workaround, modify pxelinux.cfg/default to have "hw-detect/start_pcmcia=false" in the 'append' lines.
