Removing the blocks-hwcert, as the system haven't been certified before.

Assigning to the Canonical QA team, for them to triage.

Did you end up with a blinking caps lock key? (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume#Do%20you%20end%20up%20with%20flashing%20Caps%20Lock%20light%20or%20similar?) This is indicative of a kernel crash.

If not is possible that you just weren't returned to the X environment. Did you try pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 to see if there was console login available?

Also the right package for this is probably linux and not pm-utils.

Issue is present on Lucid, but not on Natty. I am unable to access console on the fail resumes, and I do not observe any blinking caps lock keys.

Marc, can you please, in the 10.04 installation that you did, could you put here the output of:

apt-cache policy nvidia-current

Thanks!

Occurs in HP-Pavilion-g6 with Precise (2D )as well for me whereby the system does not resume with any key presses. The only way to recover is by hard- rebooting.

This should be fixed in the upstream 3.5-rc5 kernel.

drm/i915: Fix eDP blank screen after S3 resume on HP desktops

This patch fixes the problem on some HP desktop machines with eDP
which give blank screens after S3 resume.

It turned out that BLC_PWM_CPU_CTL must be written after
BLC_PWM_CPU_CTL2. Otherwise it doesn't take effect on these
SNB machines.

Tested with 3.5-rc3 kernel.
