Burn decoration prevents objects from becoming visible

Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
If burn decoration is set to the close action of drop down menus, often the dropdowns will be invisible until moused over.
Probably caused by the act of trying to redraw the dropdown before the burn effect can finish.
A proposal of mine is to cancel the burn effect if the window is called to be drawn again before the burn duration is over.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
