zim.exe not start on windows xp 32

Bug Description

click the zim.exe, and got the note-choice-page, then i click the enter, the app not start and no got any error log.

I found C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\zim.log:

i deleted C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\.config\zim\notebooks.list then created a new note(path: E:/notes/)
Still.the zim.exe not start.....

windows xp 32bit chinese.

This error happens when zim looks for installed applications for the first time.

I think you can work around by putting the following parameters in the preferences.conf file in the "[GtkInterface]" section:

web_browser=startfile
email_client=startfile
file_browser=startfile
text_editor=startfile

This should make zim not search again for these applications and continue with execution.

The preferences is file in your case seems to be located in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\.config\zim\

Can not reproduce - what version of zim was this ? If older than 0.47 it may already be fixed.
