Firefox does not respect subpixel smoothing preference

Firefox seems o use grayscale smoothing of the text no matter if you select grayscale or subpixel in the font properties.

I'll attach part of a screenshot that exemplifies the problem.

This is in an up-to-date ubuntu feisty instalation. With firefox 2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3.

Steps to reproduce bug are as follows.
Open firefox
Select Grayscale smoothing. Note that text is now smoothed in Grayscale.
Select Subpixel smoothing. Note that text is still smoothed in Grayscale despite the settings change.
User is running Ubuntu Feisty with Firefox 2.0 from the Repository.

Confirmed, just like openoffice (bug 54776). If you use Compiz/Desktop Effects' hardware-accelerated zoom (super/windows key + mouse wheel) it's very easy to see.
