Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Are you only experiencing these problems with Firefox? Also, could you please describe the behavior in some more detail? For example, what exactly happens when you try to enter something into a text field?

Yes I was having this problems with Firefox on Ubuntu Natty Alpha. I didn't tried with other browsers.

For example there was a similar bug after installing Natty Beta. When you open start page about:startpage search button didn't worked. You input something to the input field and try to click search button nothing happens. You can't ever click the search button.

When you try to enter something into a text field it is not possible to select the text field (the text field becomes orange when selected) or enter something to the text field.

Or it is not possible to select links when this error occurs. As i mentioned it doesn't happens every time. And these problems used to happen when I was using Ubuntu Natty Alpha now I am using Beta. I installed Beta yesterday. In Beta also about:startpage search button didn't worked on a fresh install. But it seems to work fine now.

I just noticed that this is happening to me. A few websites wouldn't let me click on buttons, or enter text into fields (I had to click on another field and then tab to the required one) - the last one this happened to was the web admin interface to one of our internal systems (Profense web application firewall), and the Oracle "forgot password" page at https://myprofile.oracle.com/EndUser/faces/profile/resetPassword.jspx also doesn't work - I can't click the "Reset" button.

It looks like it may be more than just Firefox though - I just downloaded Oracle's SQLdeveloper and that displays a similar issue - when setting up a new connection for example, I can't click on any of the "Test", "Save", "Cancel" etc. buttons at the bottom. But if I use the keyboard to tab and highlight these buttons, then pressing enter works.

Running Natty beta, using Unity and open source ATI drivers.

And I think this occurs NOT only in firefox.

This just started happening to me. First i noticed it on musicbrainz.org - i couldn't click on some links and i had to move to some text areas using tab. Now it happened even on Google results page. After reading comments of this bug i noticed that
mouse doesn't work on a area on screen. For example normally the mouse cursor is the text cursor when over this
text area. On a small part of the textarea mouse cursor changes to arrow and it's not possible to click on the text area.

The same arrow bug happens while over for example terminal window.

I'm not confident the bug is in Firefox, but it might be related as i noticed it first in it.

Things that might affect the bug (if it is in firefox):
  - Firefox has been running for a few days
  - There are 10 tabs open
  - Flash plugin crashed a couple of time while watching a youtube video.

I'm running up to date Ubuntu Natty on x86_64.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 11.04 (natty) reached end-of-life on October 28, 2012.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which version of Ubuntu otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.
