Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I have a problem with FireFox rendering pages incorrectly. The page appears distorted. I have several sites where this occurs, including Yahoo Mail. I have posted some samples at the following link. http://kevin.philip.long.googlepages.com/home

I am running dapper on a hp pavilion 325c, with Firefox 2.0.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin

ff 2.0 was never released for dapper officially. please report this bug to either mozilla (if you installed it from them) or the persons repo you got it from. We do not support non ubuntu packages.

The same problem occurs in 1.5. I upgraded to see if it rectified the problem.

Can you provide a screen shot of 1.5? are you using the same theme on all? Try a different theme does it still do it?

I will go back to 1.5 and post some screen shots. I haven't applied any themes, but will try changing them and see if it makes any difference.

I have some samples of Firefox 1.5 having problems rendering web pages, including this site. I also have a screen shot of a problem I had with the Freecell Solitaire game that comes with Ubuntu. I'm starting to think the problem may be video driver. If I crank my resolution up to 1280x1024, my problems go away. However, I only get a refresh rate of 60 Mhz at that resolution which is hard on the eyes.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
