Suggested applications should show description in a tooltip

Binary package hint: unity

I file this as a bug, but if you think it should be a suggestion I'll post it to brainstorm. I see it as a bug especially because it has a simple solution: in unity I can see "proposed" applications in the applications menu. They're great, they look attactive, but the names are often uninformative. I then fear to click on them, since launching software-center on a netbook is a heavy process, and also because if I click on one, the other ones "disappear".

Just adding the description of each package in a tooltip (maybe with the screenshot too) would solve the problem. I could then move my mouse from one icon to another and learn what things are. To get more information or install I could then go to the software center.

This bug is awaiting design feedback before progress can be made. Confirming that there is a question to be answered. Will be marked triaged when design gives a suitable direction forward.

This is a valid bug, and we have a proposal for Oneiric to address it.
I'd like to mark the bug opinion for now (because it will not be
addressed in Natty) and welcome you to open it again if the Oneiric
interface has the issue still.

Thanks. Thinking of my proposed solution, it would be annoying to tablet users. A simpler one is just to add another button e.g. saying "see the suggested applications in software center" that just... does what it says.

Reopening as it's still the same in oneric. Right now it's frustrating to have all those colored icons and not being able to know what they are, as clicking on them would make the others disappear.
