Bug Description
currently, after the final page of the installer, redirect does not take the user to the log-in page and instead gives a 500 error and this shows up in the logfile:
[Thu Mar 31 11:16:28 2011] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 85 bytes) in /home/darlene.

This happens because the PHP memory_limit is set too low. The INSTALL file recommends setting the value in php.ini for apache to at least 256M. This should fix the problem.
