In my case this issue is not longer valid! I did nothing special. At some point I was able to run the usual update which, as seemed to me, fixed the problem.

I reported this bug. Now, it is fixed.
sudo apt-get install sbackup works fine on my ubuntu natty.

The bug seems to be fixed in my case. Everything work nice at the moment
on my natty.

For me the bug is fixed too. I can update / install and remove sbackup without errors.

I'm closing this bug because is was fixed in package gtk-update-icon-cache and has no longer impact on sbackup. Thanks to everyone reporting and commenting.
