Context menu > Repair iPod > Scan for Orphaned and Missing Files. Everything you just tranferred is listed as Stale and Orphaned.

This is apparently a known bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135335. Amarok needs to be built against libgpod 0.4.0, but Edgy uses 0.3.2.

New package anyone?

I installed the package available at http://kubuntu.org/announcements/amarok-1.4.4.php on Edgy and it works, even with the 0.3.2 libgpod.

Feisty ships with libgpod-0.4.0, but Amarok is (apparently) still build against libgpod-0.3.x. This is a problem for new iPods, and a simple recompile against 0.4.0 is all the fix that is required.

On feisty, a simple recompile of the package resolved the issue.
I have uploaded a package at:
http://home.student.uu.se/e/eran8655/filer/amarok_1.4.4-0.3ubuntu3_i386.deb
which worked for me. No warranties though!

Assigning to MOTU, since the fix (recompile against current libgpod) has been confirmed.

This works for me with Ubuntu-built Amarok packages. Seems fixed.

I'm going to go ahead and close the bug then. The KDE bugtracker seemed to indicate that it was just a case of needing libgpod recompiled for the new version, which seems to either have been done or not been the issue. If anyone is still experiencing this, please reopen the bug.
