Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Using Unity / Compiz, buttons in some applications cannot be clicked on with mouse, or only on a small portion of the button.
It feels as if there were hidden by an invisible object with higher "z-index". A workaround is to use the keyboard (tab) to select the button and press enter.

How to reproduce : ... that's the problem. It will happen after some time...

This happens to me too. The mouse wheel also stops working at times.

I'm using the "Classical desktop" and not unity.

I think it's due an invisible region which disables mouse and keyboard events.

There's an invisible region at the center of screen.
Any mouse click, wheel or keyboard event will be discarded in this region.
I remembered it occurred long time ago and had been fixed.
Probably a regression in recent upgrade.

I face this problem consistently, moving the window, dialogs to another location makes the buttons work which makes it quite possibly a duplicate of bug 723014

The same happens here with classical desktop.

Almost sure this is a duplicate of bug 723014. Setting it as so.
