Bug Description
When an app is minimized, and the launcher is hidden, the app's launcher icon peeks out from the side. This is a really nice effect, but I think the icon pops out too far and is distracting. I'm trying to dismiss the application from my view, and I get startled by the pop out. More than once I've reopened the app thinking that it had gotten an URGENT hint and it wanted to tell me something important.
I think a much smaller peek would accomplish the same goal of letting me know exactly where I can find the launcher, but without calling as much attention to the application which I've just tried to shove out of my mental model.

A valid issue, but marked as 'Won't fix' because requested solution is the wrong way around.
We don't want to make Notifications less noticeable, the purpose of notifications is for them to be noticed ;-) Also if they become don't pop out as far it will be harder for the user to click on.
The correct solution is to decrease the frequency of the notifications. Applications only issue notifications when there is a valid reason for doing so. Applications issuing too many notifications for non-urgent tasks is a bug that needs to be reported to the application authors.
