Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Ubuntu 10.10 x64
evolution-2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3

I prefer new messages to be on top, so I display them in a reversed date order.
However, the order of messages within a thread always ascends 'downwards'.
It looks like this:

B - 2011-01-02
 > Re:B - 2011-01-03
  > Re:B - 2011-01-04
A - 2011-01-01
 > Re:A - 2011-01-02
  > Re:A - 2011-01-03
X - 2010-12-31
Y - 2010-12-30
Z - 2010-12-29
etc.

instead of this:
  > Re:B - 2011-01-04
 > Re:B - 2011-01-03
B - 2011-01-02
  > Re:A - 2011-01-03
 > Re:A - 2011-01-02
A - 2011-01-01
X - 2010-12-31
Y - 2010-12-30
Z - 2010-12-29
etc.

I think this is more a lacking option of the graphical displaying option of Evolution than a real bug.
I’ve allowed myself to add the tag “WishList”.

summary: - Threading does not respect reverse date order
+ [Wishlist] Threading does not respect reverse date order

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
