pulseaudio hangs after suspend/resume while playing audio

Bug Description
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
1. Playing a MP3 file using Totem
2. Suspend the laptop by closing the lid
3. Open the laptop
4. Audio playback won't work. Not using Totem, not using mplayer.
5. kill the pulseaudio daemon
6. now audio playback works again.
There were some similar reports from 2009 with a fix released status.
